Introducing The Spa Elder
Guests can select individual spa treatments or experience a step by step program developed by the Spa Elder. The Spa Elder is your experienced guide, trained in the use of local indigenous ingredients and the ability to provide a customized program. She will create specific therapeutic rituals and treatments that address each guest’s long-term wellness goals. A combination of education, spa therapies, fitness regimes and mid-body programs will complement one another to provide a comprehensive approach to healthy living. The Spa Elder has used her wisdom of time honored Jamaican traditions/rituals to create a spa menu that embodies ingredients from both the land and sea. Hand-selected herbs and plants combined with sea botanicals create a unique and results-oriented spa menu. Whether choosing a single spa service, a full-day experience or a complete week centered on wellness, the Spa Elder is your first step to well-being.
Fern Tree, the Spa at Half Moon, in keeping with our Jamaican traditions will offer the best of luxury spa services and products available including premier skincare lines from Jamaica and Europe. Our partners are carefully chosen to compliment the indigenous botanicals and surroundings of Montego Bay. The menu will include treatments using the pure essential oils from Blue Mountain Aromatics an island favorite, with Pevonia and Thalgo. Pevonia is considered one of the leading botanical skin care lines and Thalgo known for its marine based therapies will be featured in our menu offerings.
The Arrival Ritual
Each guest arriving at the spa will begin their journey with a ceremonial foot bath. The guest will be escorted to a reception area in which they will be instructed to sit down, presented with traditional Jamaican Bush Tea and receive a foot bath infused with lavender water or nutmeg oil. The guest will have their feet cleansed representing the removal of the day’s journey while the receptionist checks-in the guest for services ensuring that the guest never feels rushed. Spa guests may choose between nutmeg oil’s rejuvenating, uplifting and energizing effects or lavender water’s calming and relaxing effects.
The Signature Treatments
All Signature therapies will embrace integrated massage and skin care techniques, specially crafted Allspice signature blends from Jamaica’s Blue Mountain Aromatics, the healing benefits of the local Jamaican rum, and indigenous hand picked herbs selected for your treatment by our Spa Elder. Relaxation techniques will be incorporated in each signature treatment to reduce stress and create a memorable Jamaican experience. Our Island Guided Power Nap will provide you with the ultimate journey to true relaxation. All signature treatments will include a complimentary signature gift to take the memory home.
Fern Tree Signature Massage
Complete with a ritual footbath of Jamaican Cerasee, the Fern Tree Signature Massage is performed to the soothing music of the Caribbean. Our Signature Essential Oil blend of allspice,ginger, and orange is used throughout the massage to further inspire relaxation. Infused body compresses, a Jamaican Rum Body Splash, globally integrated massage and healing techniques inspired from the Mediterranean, Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi,Chinese Acupressure and Thai Stretches, and a Guided Power Nap ensures many healing benefits, and gives a whole other meaning to the idea of Bliss!

A soothing and hydrating facial, the Fern Tree Spa Signature Facial begins with a ritual footbath of Jamaican Cerasee. While enjoying your foot bath, a blend of carefully selected Jamaican fruits, herbs and other indigenous ingredients are combined to create the ultimate seasonal facial masque. It combines a skin analysis, deep cleansing, hydration and moisturizing with an Spf 30+, and protects you from further sun damage with its AHA and BHA non-abrasive exfoliating acids and vitamin B-5, aloe, chamomile and green tea extracts. A super vitamin C serum boosts collagen production. The Somme regimen has been clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, helps reverse sun damage and dramatically improves skin's tone, texture and clarity. Half Moon Signature Manicure or Pedicure
The Half Moon Signature Manicure begins with a relaxing ritual soak in aroma-infused water followed by an exfoliation using natural sea salts and aromatherapy oil blended specifically by the Spa Elder. A relaxing massage of the hands or feet with a custom blended moisturizing lotion and invigorating splash of Jamaican Rum leaves skin silky and smooth. The massage is followed by a soothing paraffin wrap to further hydrate the skin. This therapy is complete with your choice of buffing or polishing of the nails.
